We're delighted to announce the appointment of Jamie Dyer as the new Senior Branch Manager in our busy Stroud office.
Jamie boasts a raft of experience in estate agency and is a familiar face in the Stroud property market - he cut his sales teeth at another agent in Stroud way back in 2001 and worked for them in the town for 15 years.
This wealth of knowledge and experience, not just in Stroud but throughout the Five Valleys, makes him a valuable addition to The Property Centre team and he’s relishing the opportunity to work in the area again.
A real local, Jamie grew up in Stroud and attended Archway School, with his youngest daughter attending Stroud High School and his eldest daughter a former pupil there too. On his appointment, a delighted Jamie said: "I’m Proud to be Stroud and very happy to be working back in the town again – it’s a beautiful area and it’s been great to bump into so many familiar faces and speak to so many old customers in the few short weeks since I started here."
Stroud's Housing Market
As we enter the end of the summer and the beginning of autumn, Jamie feels the market in Stroud is still hugely positive. “Despite the current cost of living concerns, the demand for property, from buyers wanting to live in Stroud and the surrounding villages, remains very strong and so too do property prices. We’ve certainly seen no indication of a slow-down – the strong demand is still outstripping the number of properties for sale and that’s meant properties not only often sell quickly, but many on the market receive multiple offers.
“In market conditions like these, it’s essential that buyers put themselves in the best possible position. They need to register their requirements with estate agents, so they get to hear straight away if something matching their wishlist is coming to market – and they need to have their finances in place. This again is something we can help with. We work with Mortgage Advice Bureau and have a professional mortgage adviser, Clare Gregg, who’s based in our Stroud office and who has access to the whole of the mortgage market. Not only can she compare over 12,000 different mortgages in a matter of minutes, but she can find the very best deal to suit a client’s circumstances - it’s a win-win."
Outside of work, Jamie enjoys keeping fit by playing squash, the odd game of golf and he’s a keen runner - he’s planning to run the Stroud Half in October to raise money for Longfield Hospice. He also enjoys watching live sport at Forest Green Rovers or at Kingsholm watching the Rugby.
Simon Trippett, Partner at The Property Centre, welcomed his appointment to lead the team in Stroud. “Jamie’s always been on our radar. He enjoys a reputation for being an excellent manager and an exceptional estate agent - former colleagues and clients all speak very highly of him. That, coupled with his passion for Stroud and his knowledge of the property market here, made him the Number 1 choice when it came to recruiting a new manager for our Stroud office – I have no doubt that he’s going to be a great success."
