Home Interior Trends for Spring 2023

Recently, homeowners are giving the design of their homes more attention. Your home should bring you comfort, joy, and a sense of togetherness; it should be more than just a place to live.

The predicted design trends for 2023 are consistent with these ideas.

Wellness at home

More homeowners are considering spaces within their property to aid their well-being. Spaces to withdraw, unwind, and recover from daily stresses become requirements rather than niceties as we place even greater significance on our health and wellness.

This might be as easy as making a bathroom into a tranquil retreat with appealing tiling, indoor plants and careful design. The outdoor spa and wellness area is becoming more and more popular, and they often incorporate areas for exercise as well as meditation into our daily lives.

Sustainability

The idea of sustainability isn't actually a trend; rather, it's a change in how we think and behave. The materials we have access to and the ways we choose to decorate our homes show that sustainability is the way of the future.

Many of the interior design trends for 2023 fall under the themes of sustainability or wellness. Healthy living, finding a better work-life balance, and protecting the environment are becoming more and more important to homeowners.

For a while now, wood has been a popular material for furniture. Yet, softer materials like bamboo, wicker, and rattan are once again becoming popular. They are often fashioned into intriguing forms and patterns because they are pliable and due to its eco-friendliness and stylish design, wickerwork is no longer just for the outdoors.

Natural textures

Woven finishes and wobbly-lined weaves are becoming more popular. They continue the current fashion for unpolished, organic looks. Although they are not uniform and consistent, woven goods give texture and interest.

Furthermore, keep an eye out for statement stones. Although marble has been popular for some time, new colour options are likely to emerge. Particularly in bathrooms, a deep, midnight blue with pale streaks is becoming more prevalent. Stone is also striking when used as a tabletop in conjunction with a sophisticated metal structure.

Calming curves

In 2023, elegance and grace are once again on the menu. Captivating architectural features like complicated curves, cylindrical shapes, columns, and arches are finding fresh life in contemporary furniture.

Curved or arched edges can be soothing and calming while yet adding a hint of opulence because they are softer than crisp and angular patterns. This style of design is not limited to architecture. Keep an eye out for sculptural items, curved sofas, tables, rugs, and mirrors. They are distinctive, eye-catching, and make a bold statement.

Curvy wooden furniture complements the nostalgic 70s style that is currently enjoying a second chance in the limelight. These more fluid forms are exciting, interesting, and friendly characteristics to introduce into your home.

A splash of colour

The trend-spotting company WGSN named Digital Lavender the Colour of the Year for 2023. This emphasises once more the present emphasis on well-being and harmony.

Many people who lead hectic lives will relate to the concept of turning off their devices and unwinding in the soothing tones of a room decorated in colours such as these.

In direct contrast, Pantone has named Viva Magenta its Colour of the Year. Pantone explains that Viva Magenta is "an unconventional colour for unconventional times", assertive but not aggressive that projects dynamism, and exuberance and promotes joy and optimism.

Art deco designs

2023 is on track to draw inspiration from vintage designs such as those from the Art Deco era. Look out for symmetry and geometric motifs in interior design.

This can be seen in eye-catching tile work on floors and walls, detailed wallpaper, or textiles such as bedding and curtains.

For family, friends and guests, our homes must be warm and inviting and ‘conviviality’ is a keyword being used to describe 2023.

Our living areas and furnishings should look welcoming and be arranged for entertainment and conversation. People now place a high value on styling a home that is suitable for spending time together pleasantly, after being denied this privilege in recent years.
