A team of 4 runners from our head office is raising £1,000’s for charity by taking on their biggest challenge to date – running the London Marathon on 22nd April 2018!
As an independent local estate agent, supporting local charities - especially the smaller, underfunded ones - is important to us at The Property Centre, and whilst the charities our runners are representing may not be high-profile, they both certainly do an amazing job. The Spring Centre, based in Quedgeley, gives invaluable support to hundreds of disabled children and their families from all across Gloucestershire, while Maggie’s Cheltenham, located on College Baths Road near the Lido, is a place where anyone affected by cancer is welcome and given practical, emotional and social support.
Our 4 runners, founding Partner Steve Jones, Sales Director Simon Trippett, Marketing Manager Wendy Worger and Social Media Executive Victoria Anderson have been in training since October, but all admit the winter miles have been tough going. None of them have ever run a marathon before, they’ve run 10k and half marathons, but this is something much bigger altogether. Training has been really hard because of the distances they've had to run, not to mention the cold winter weather and the recent snow definitely made things interesting. Despite that they've all still put in the miles, knowing that they’re doing this to help two such worthy charities has been enough to keep them going.
It’s not the first time The Property Centre has supported The Spring Centre. Steve, Simon and Wendy ran the Paris Half Marathon in March last year to raise money for the charity where it rained constantly and, even hailed at one point. Our team is hoping for better weather on 22nd April!
