The half term is fast approaching and with Halloween following closely behind we have prepared some activities to keep the kids (and adults) occupied this October! Whether you’re a Halloween fanatic or simply an autumn lover.
Here are 5 things you can do over the October half-term break
1) Pumpkin Picking – Great for the kids and adults, pumpkin patches are a great way to begin getting into the Halloween spirit. You can also support local businesses by visiting your local farm with a patch. Here are three farms local to Gloucestershire: Primrose Vale, Over Farm and Cattle Country Park Farm.
2) Berkeley Castle’s Spooktacular Halloween– With lots of different events happening at Berkeley Castle, guests can enjoy an audience with Henry VIII and his two headless wives or take part in the castle’s gruesome gameshow and enjoy some child-friendly spooky storytime. See what's on
3) Gloucester Prison Ghost Hunt – Test your nerves during an overnight stay at one of Gloucester’s most haunted buildings. Take part in seances, vigils and experiments to try and contact those spirits still there. Book your tickets
4) Room on the Broom Halloween Adventure Party – Get the kids in the Halloween spirit, as Vickie from Party Bugs uses your imagination to whisk you away to the adventurous world of the ‘Room On The Broom’ book. Click here to find out more
5) Cook with pumpkins – Use those pumpkins you collected with a range of recipes, including frozen pumpkin cheesecake and pumpkin biriyani. See all of the recipes here!
